December  2014

We arrived home from our 10 day cruise to the ABC islands on December 4th. The day before we got home Vanessa became sick with an uncontrollable night time cough. After several sleepless nights for both of us she went to the doctors and there the saga begins. We won't dwell on it, emergency room visits etc. etc. but it has taken almost six weeks of prescribed medications and then self medication to get her feeling somewhat better and no longer losing weight. We still do not really know what the trouble is but we are working on it.

After a short two weeks stay at home. We packed our bags again and this time filled the van with all the things we might need for our almost 6 week stay in sunny Florida. Bikes, kayak, beach chairs, and so on and so on. The children, their partners, and grandchildren joined us for Xmas week in a small town, Hudson, on the West Coast. The house we rented was ideal for our needs. We could walk out the back door onto the golf course. Our son loved that. We had a small heated swimming pool. The grandchildren loved that. We had our evening meals together and the rest of the time was a free for all. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all.

Day trips included, Lego Land, Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, Fishing, and Homossasa Springs. Most days golf was on the menu and of course the swimming pool was used daily, and nightly by some!

New Years Eve was wonderful. Mathew and his partner caught many fish the day before so we had a great fish fry and then the youngsters went off on the town whilst Grandparents and grandchildren enjoyed an early night, after a night swim of course!

This is what happens when you don't sleep at night
